Bars, pubs and restaurants are now allowed to reopen facing new challenges to keep us safe and helping us to reconnect with each other.

The new normal

Now that Europe has begun to control the spread of COVID-19, hospitality establishments are reopening.

They are ready to welcome back consumers who wish to reconnect with each other over a drink.

Yet people need to have the confidence that those places will not only be as dependable and convivial as they were before the shutdown, but that they will also be returning to safe and responsible environments.

Facing new challenges

Establishments have found that whilst being eager to reopen as soon as they can, there are a number of challenges still to overcome – not least that of ensuring social distance guidance is respected and opening at a reduced capacity.

Despite being open, businesses are going to continue to struggle to overcome the inevitable decline in customer numbers and sales, compared to the buoyant sector we experienced last year. It means that the suppliers and employers in the rest of the beer and hospitality value chain will also suffer as a result.

We need you to be part of the conversation – use #RECONNECT to share stories of how your sector, business or experience has been during this time.
